Free course or tuition refund complaint letter template
Use this letter for a college, training provider, online course or private education service that did not provide the advertised teaching or facilities.
Who this letter is for
Seek a refund or fee reduction when teaching, facilities or course delivery differ materially from what was promised. It is written in the formal register companies, landlords and card issuers expect, and it records the facts, the remedy sought and the deadline in a way that supports any later escalation to an ombudsman or the courts.
How to use this template
- 1Save the published course promises.
- 2List missed teaching and services by date.
- 3Record earlier complaints.
- 4Calculate the fee reduction requested.
- 5Use the provider's formal complaint route.
What to include before you send it
- Save the prospectus, course page and timetable showing what was promised.
- List missed teaching hours, unavailable facilities or unprovided services with dates.
- State how you calculated the refund or fee reduction requested.
The rights you are relying on
The education contract, published refund policy and applicable consumer-protection law govern the claim; formal academic appeal rules are separate from fee complaints.
